Munich, Germany is not exactly known as the best place on earth to find good waves, with the next ocean at least a 6 hour car ride away. However Munich can still call a thriving surf scene it's own. The Eisbach (Iceriver) in the center of Munich has a standing wave that over the last years has not only attracted local surfers but many others, stopping by to check out the unlikely surf spot.
The city of Munich is now contemplating to destroy the wave, after a few accidents involving swimmers nearby the wave, though neither surfers nor the wave has been directly involved.
