The night had a huge raffle to benefit Bobby's foundation.

DANNY DAVIS WINS FIRST EVER DEW TOUR SNOWBOARD SUPERPIPE HONOR
20-year-old Davis’ style and amplitude top the competition in Breckenridge, CO

Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California (December 22, 2008) – Danny Davis takes first in Superpipe at the debut of the Winter Dew Tour over the weekend. Following a forced season off due to injury, Davis built his strength back over the summer and with this win proves that he’s back in winning form for this contest packed season.

“I’ve been riding for the summer and I was hurt last year so it’s just nice to come back and ride well and land a run,” says Davis. “The pipe was perfect, and the riding was unreal today, I am stoked.”

Davis cleanly linked together a series of tricks he’d never done together before in a contest. The fresh, winning run included a switch backside 720, a backside 900, a frontside 1080 into a cab 1080, to finish with a frontside 900. His score of 94.75, the best of the day, landed in front of Shaun White and Scotty Lago.

As the Michigan native moves on to the next Dew tour stop in Mount Snow, VT, he’ll be packing 100 points toward an overall win. Similar to the Dew Tour’s summer competition structure, the Winter Dew Tour is based on a cumulative points system as the top snow athletes battle it out for a piece of the $1.5 million prize purse and the chance to take home the Dew Cup at the conclusion of the season in February.

Along with competing in the next two Dew Tour stops, Davis is competing in the Winter X Games, Burton Open Series and Grand Prix events in preparation for the 2010 Olympic qualifiers. Between his ambitious contest schedule, Davis is looking forward to filming with the Burton team and riding some powder with his Frends.

Winter Dew Tour - Mikkel gets 2nd in slopestyle

Mikkel Bang of Norway came in second at 92.33, narrowly losing to Shaun White who scored a 95.17 on his second run.

Similar to the Dew Tour’s summer competition structure, the Winter Dew Tour is based on a cumulative points system as the top snow athletes battle it out for a piece of the $1.5 million prize purse and the chance to take home the Dew Cup at the conclusion of the season in February. So Mikkel is in a really good place with one competition completed.

The four-day competition is the first of three stops of the Winter Dew Tour that features men’s and women’s freeskiing and snowboarding disciplines. Saturday's action features men’s freeski slopestyle finals, women’s freeski slopestyle exhibition, and men’s freeski superpipe finals while the Sunday schedule includes the men’s and women’s snowboard superpipe finals.

The sun poked through a few times yesterday and there were some fun little waves to be had here on the north shore.

The surf is on the small side and it seems the North Shore is emptying out a bit.

During frequent trips to the airport to shorten our friend-pool we decided to take a bit of a tour around the island.

We saw Nathan, just going for a ride.

A briar patch.

Good views.

And a chicken who was asleep.  

Hopefully some waves are in our future because it looks like there's more rain on the way.
