Last year the Sweet skateboard team went on a summer tour and it turned out to be a fun and successful one. So the decision to follow it up this year with a new one was not to hard.
Since two of the Sweet riders (Martin Pennlowe and Bjorn Holmenas) already skate for Analog it felt natural to ask if Analog felt like supporting the trip and help out with the organisation of competitions and so on.
Of course Analog were happy to help and the tour schedule was soon to be booked.
Our nice black van took us from Sweet's hometown, Trollhattan with ten stops visiting different cities during a twelve day tour finally reaching it's origins once again.
We where extremely lucky with the weather. This summer has been the rainiest one in hundreds of years so the fact that we did not have to cancel one stop was a success, just that.
Every were we went happy faces met us and everyone seemed pleased to se that something different was happening in their town. The Sweet and Analog riders got to skate together with the locals at every spot and the atmosphere was mellow and fun at each stop.
After each session there were highest ollie and best trick challenges where everyone was invited to skate and try there best for a chance to win both great honour and nice prizes.
Besides being a fun tour meeting a lot of skaters in different cities, it was also a really productive one with great tricks filmed and shot in the streets before and after all off the skatepark stops.
Later on this fall there will be a full tour story in Swedish skate mag, Giftorm and the tricks filmed will end up in the new Sweet video premiering spring 08. This video will hopefully be available through Kingpin and it will feature the entire Sweet team and their friends on locations throughout Europe.
